Anger

Anger is a portioned flame extracted from the burning fire that flares from the disease of the heart; the flame is buried inside the heart just as the black burning charcoal is beneath the ashes. This flame is prevailed through arrogance, also known as “kibr” in Arabic, which is the root of the cause of anger. In Sahih Muslim, it says, “Whoever has a particle’s weight of pride in his heart will not enter Paradise”. This is because the root of kibr is munafiqat (hypocrite). This type of person goes against all the Islamic teachings; his state causes anger to release hatred and envy, which is the destroyer of the heart, the source of which is the piece when it is good the whole body is good and when it is spoilt the whole body becomes spoilt.

The solution to kibr is to come into the state of “nothingness”. At the stage of nothingness, the individual comes to the truth, “There is no god but Allah”. It is important to understand that we were only created to worship and know Allah. Allah is Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful), Al-Ghafoor (The Great Forgiver), Al Wadood (The Most Loving), and Al Kareem (The Most Generous).

As Allah says in the Quran, “Whatever good comes to you, it is from Allah, but whatever evil comes to you, it is from yourself”. If kibr can push a person into the station of damage, then imagine the station that will be given to a person who is able to refrain kibr through achieving nothingness.
